Beyond Borders Storytelling

Stories for Wanderlusting Adventurers.

About Us

Beyond Borders Storytelling features wanderlusting adventurers with a story to tell. Originally founded by three former Peace Corps Volunteers in 2013 as a way to share stories about living overseas, Beyond Borders now serves up regular story jams featuring unique perspectives from all those interested in creating understanding through the art of storytelling, whether you're building bridges at home or abroad, across cultures or under the same roof.

In addition to our flagship story jams, we offer workshops, coaching, and corporate events to help aspiring and experienced storytellers hone their craft.

Every other month, we put on story jams featuring storytellers sharing 5-10 minute personal, true stories told without notes before a live audience on the Main Stage at PianoFight in San Francisco. The stories in each show are unified around a particular theme, such as Demons, Lost in Translation and Love at First Sight.

Our workshops cover the basics of creating and telling a story. Our story coaches can offer more advanced training and feedback as you progress through developing your story.

Practice sessions are a chance to share rough versions of a work-in-progress and receive feedback and coaching in a casual, low-pressure setting.

We offer tailored corporate training and events for organizations looking to bring the art of personal storytelling to their employees or members in a fun and interactive setting. Corporate events are customized to your organization's needs and culture, and may include workshops, storytelling events, personalized coaching or any combination of activities for all levels, from newbies to seasoned public speakers. Contact us to discuss what you're looking for, and we will work with you to make it happen!
